LiftMaster 84602 — the DC chain drive garage door opener with dual 1,500-lumen LED lighting, battery backup and built-in Wi-Fi. The chain-drive twin of the 84501 belt drive: the same head, motor and logic board on a one-piece T-rail ordered to door height. myQ without a gateway, Bluetooth setup, the 485LM battery, and the Security+ 2.0 radio with the yellow learn button. No camera on this model — the MYQ-SGC1WLM add-on camera was the option.
LiftMaster discontinued the 84602 in October 2025. The replacement is the 6580L — LiftMaster moved this slot to a 1 HPs belt drive with the same dual LED lighting and battery backup, plus a 360° camera and Security+ 3.0. If you want to stay on chain drive, the heavy-duty 4690L or the Basic-series 2420L are the chain options. If this page still shows the 84602 as available it is remaining stock; once it is gone we cannot get more. Everything below it — boards, motors, rails, remotes, batteries — is still supplied, so an installed 84602 can be kept running for years. A belt-drive replacement needs a belt rail; only a chain-drive replacement can reuse the 1707LM / 1708LM / 1710LM rail already up.

Common questions
Can I still buy an 84602?
Only while remaining stock lasts. LiftMaster's listed replacement is the 6580L belt drive. For a chain drive, the 4690L (heavy duty, lifetime motor warranty) or the 2420L (Basic series) are the current chain models.
Will my remotes work on the new opener?
No. All the new models are Security+ 3.0 with a white learn button. The L992U universal remote works on both generations.
Can I reuse my rail?
Only with a chain-drive replacement (4690L needs its own I-beam rail; the 2420L uses the same T-rail as the 84602). The 6580L is a belt drive and needs a belt rail.
Does myQ still work?
Yes. Discontinuation affects new units only.
