Not sure which Ramset you have? The model is on a label inside the cover, and on most units it is also cast or stamped into the chassis. Pick your model above and you will get the factory parts diagram with every part number clickable.
Every Ramset part number begins 800-. If you already have the number, type it straight into the search box.
Ramset builds swing, slide and overhead gate operators in the USA, and has done since the 1970s. Many units installed twenty and thirty years ago are still running, which is exactly why the parts matter. We stock genuine Ramset service parts across the range — gear reducers, motors, control boards, limit switches and cams, belts, chains, sprockets, arm and clamp assemblies, covers and access doors.
If you know Ramset units as gate openers rather than gate operators, it is the same equipment. Both terms are used in the trade.
Ramset uses a three-block format, 800-XX-XX, where the middle block is the part family. Once you know it, you can often narrow a search yourself:
| Prefix | Family |
|---|---|
| 800-02-xx | Gear reducers |
| 800-04-xx | Motors and capacitors |
| 800-06-xx | Sprockets |
| 800-08-xx | Pulleys |
| 800-10-xx | V-belts |
| 800-20-xx / 800-48-xx | Limit switches and limit cams |
| 800-52-xx | Chain |
| 800-60-xx to 800-66-xx | Transformers, control boards, covers |
| 800-75-xx | Complete assemblies |
| 800-80-xx to 800-85-xx | Accessories, loops, remotes, photo eyes |
Older RAM 30 units also carry legacy numbers in a 50-xxx format. Both are cross-referenced in our catalog, so either number will find the part.
Almost always the limit system rather than the board. Check the limit switches first, then the limit cams for a slipped set screw, then the cam hub or limit chain depending on model.
Start with the drive belt, then the drive chain and sprockets. On the RAM 30 the motor start capacitor is a common and cheap failure. Only after those should you suspect the gear reducer, which is the most expensive part on the machine.
That is the torque limiter or clutch, not the electronics. The friction discs are wear items and the assemblies can be rebuilt component by component rather than replaced whole.
Work back from the incoming power: transformer, then the power switch, then the control board and its edge connector. If the wall button works but the remote does not, it is the radio receiver terminal, not the board.
None of this replaces a service call on a gate that is binding, dragging or hitting its posts. A mechanical fault in the gate will destroy whichever part you fit.
The Intelligate 800-63-00 Domestic UL board has been discontinued by Ramset. Current replacements are the ETL board set (800-65-01 logic, specify AC or DC; 800-65-02 AC driver; 800-65-05 DC driver) or the 800-76-50 upgrade kit, which bundles the board, edge connector, transformer and mounting plate. The 3000 series uses a different Intelligate board, 800-62-00. If you are unsure which board is in your unit, send us a photo and we will identify it.
Ramset units use Multi Code radio controls. See our Multi Code remotes and receivers. For photo eyes, loop detectors and safety edges, see safety equipment, sensors and loop systems. Guide rollers, V-track, uphill arms and hinges are Ramset hardware items and are listed within the model categories above.
Yes. Everything listed here is factory Ramset unless the listing says otherwise.
Usually. Each model page breaks the assemblies down into their individual components with part numbers, so you can order a single friction disc, clamp or arbor rather than the complete assembly.
Ramset shares many components across models, and older units were sometimes built with parts that later changed number. Call or message us with the number and your operator's model and serial, and we will identify the current equivalent.
Yes. Much of what we stock is for machines that are twenty years old or more. Some parts are no longer manufactured, and where that is the case we will tell you rather than take an order we cannot fill.
