Which DoorKing Phone Entry System Do You Have?
The quickest way to tell the 1800 series apart is the display. Everything else — the keypad, the speaker, the microphone board, the lock — is shared across most of the range.

Common DoorKing Phone Entry Repairs
Most service calls on an 1800 series panel come down to one of a handful of parts, and they are the same parts across nearly every model.
- Panel completely dead — check the transformer before condemning the board. The 1833, 1834, 1835, 1837 and the 1838-081 all run two transformers, so test both. The 1837 pairs a 40 VA with a 20 VA.
- Visitor cannot be heard — the 1998-010 microphone board, fitted to almost the entire range, plus its 1897-053 gasket.
- Resident cannot be heard — the speaker. The 1804-290 square speaker on the 1833, 1834 and 1835; the 1817-190 oval on the 1802, 1837 and 1838.
- Display blank or garbled — on the 1837 check the 1892-010 driver board before the 1896-012 LCD; the driver is a fraction of the price and DoorKing leaves it off the parts list.
- Resident names lost — the memory chip, not the board. The chip is always a separate purchase: 1810-068, 1810-075, 1834-157, 1835-147 or 1830-404 depending on the model.
- Keypad worn or vandalised — the 1895-017 numeric keypad covers most of the range. The older alphanumeric 1895-016 has been discontinued; call us and we will confirm the current retrofit.
- Water inside the enclosure — 1800-018 weather strip and the 1897-050 support gaskets.
