Genuine LiftMaster 045DCT receiver logic board (printed 045DCT or 45DCT) — the Security+ 2.0 board with the yellow learn button for the 2011–2016 LiftMaster and Chamberlain DC belt and chain drive openers with battery backup, built before Wi-Fi was on the board: the LiftMaster 8160, 8360 and 8550, and the Chamberlain HD920EV, B730 and B740. LiftMaster cross-lists it under 041D7356, 1D7356, 001D7356 and 41D7356, and under the factory board numbers 45DCBL1A / 3A / 5A, 45DCBR1A / 3A / 5A, 45DCCL, 45DCCR, 45DCJL, 45DCRL and 41DCBC / 41DCCC.
Yellow learn button, battery backup, no Wi-Fi = this board. The number is printed along the edge of the board behind the logic board end panel. If it reads 050DCTWF, 050DCTB or 050DCTBFMC the opener is a Wi-Fi unit and needs the 050DCTBFMC. If it reads 045DCT125 the opener is a 1-1/4 HP unit and needs the 045DCT125.

Which openers use the 045DCT
| Opener | Parts page |
|---|---|
| LiftMaster 8160 (1/2 HP DC chain) — and early 8160W units whose board reads 045DCT | 8160W parts |
| LiftMaster 8360 (1/2 HP DC chain, battery backup) | 8360 parts |
| LiftMaster 8550 (3/4 HP DC belt, battery backup) | 8550 parts |
| Chamberlain HD920EV (DC belt, battery backup) — if its board reads 045DCT125, order that instead | HD920EV parts |
| Chamberlain B730, B730C, B740 (DC belt, battery backup) — later units use the 050DCTBFMC | B730 / B740 parts |
Not for AC openers. The AC opener of the same years (8065, 8165, 8365, 8557, 8587, C203, HD210) takes the 045ACTMC. The two boards look alike and are not interchangeable.
Parts often replaced with it
485LM backup battery — a beeping opener or one that is slow on battery is the battery, not the board · 041D7742-7 travel module · 041-0136 safety sensors · 893LM remote · 828LM myQ gateway
Is the board actually the problem?
The logic board is the most over-ordered part on a garage door opener. Work down this list before you buy:
| Symptom | Check first |
|---|---|
| Opener completely dead — no light, no beep, nothing from the wall button | The outlet and breaker, then the line cord and the transformer. The board is last on this list, not first |
| Light comes on but the motor does nothing, or clicks once | On these DC units the motor and travel module, then the wiring between them and the board |
| Door will not close and the opener light flashes 10 times | The safety sensors — alignment, a cut wire or a sun-blinded eye. This is never the board |
| Remotes and keypad stopped working but the wall button works | Remote batteries, then re-program them to the learn button. Only if the learn button LED never lights is the receiver on the board suspect |
| Lost its Wi-Fi or myQ connection | The router, the phone app and the Wi-Fi signal in the garage — not the board. Re-run the myQ setup from the app before ordering anything |
| Runs a few inches and reverses, or stops short of the floor | Door balance and the travel and force settings first, then the travel module. The board only after those |
| Beeps every few seconds, or runs slowly on battery | The backup battery is a consumable — replace it before suspecting the board |
| Learn button LED never lights, opener runs one way only, or it failed the night of a storm | The board. Surge damage is the single most common reason one of these is replaced |
After fitting
The replacement board arrives blank. After fitting it you will need to set the travel limits and force, program every remote, keypad and vehicle HomeLink to the new learn button, and re-test the safety reversal on a 2x4 laid flat on the floor. If you used myQ through an 828LM gateway, re-add the opener in the app.
Put the opener on a surge protector when you fit the new board. Lightning and utility surges are the most common reason a garage door opener logic board is replaced, and a new board on the same unprotected outlet is at the same risk. A plug-in surge protector rated for motors is a small cost next to a second board.
Common questions
The number on my board is 45DCBL5A. Is this the right part?
Yes. Those are the factory board numbers; LiftMaster services all of them with the 045DCT.
What is the difference between the 045DCT and the 045DCT125?
The 045DCT125 is the 1-1/4 HP version for the HD930EV and other 1-1/4 HP DC belt units. They are not interchangeable — go by the number on your board.
