How Genie part numbers work. Most Genie service parts end in .S — for example 36179R.S or 39342R.S. The letter before the suffix marks the revision, so 41182R.S and 41182T.S are the same part in different production runs and are not interchangeable. Order the number printed on the part you removed wherever you can read it.

Boards can differ within one model. On the Connect and SilentMax range in particular, some units shipped with a green main board and others with a blue one, and they take different replacements. Check the colour of the board in your opener before ordering.

Older Genie openers are not all supportable. The Chain Glide platform in particular has been largely discontinued — its motor, front panel, light socket, drive module and 239-pitch chain are no longer manufactured in any form. The model pages mark those parts plainly so you can decide between a repair and a replacement unit before you order.

Screw drive maintenance. Screw rails need periodic greasing with a screw-drive-specific lubricant. Never use a spray lubricant or general-purpose grease on a screw rail — it will strip the carriage.

Genie openers built from the late 1990s onward use Intellicode, so current Genie remotes, wireless keypads and Safe-T-Beam sensors work across most of the range regardless of drive type. If you are unsure which part your unit takes, call us with the model number from the power head label.
