Description

Genie GK2 wireless Intellicode keypad — dealer pack GK2-P, part 42368R (the retail box is the GK2-R, 42370R) — the current Genie keypad and the replacement for the GK-BX (37224R), GK-R, GWKP (35282R) and GWKIC (34967R). Auto-seeks 315 or 390 MHz, so it programs to any Intellicode 1 or 2 Genie opener from 1995 on and to Overhead Door CodeDodger. Controls up to three openers, gives a temporary PIN to a contractor or neighbour, backlit keys, flip-up cover, two AAA batteries.

Genie only. The GK2 speaks Intellicode. For a LiftMaster or Chamberlain opener use the L979M; for a mixed driveway (Genie plus another brand) the L979U universal keypad covers both.

Common questions

How do I program it?
Enter your PIN and press the program button on the keypad, then press the learn button on the opener motor head within 30 seconds and enter the PIN again. The sheet in the box covers a second and third opener and the temporary PIN.

Will it work on my 1990s Genie?
Only if the opener is Intellicode — look for the learn / program button on the head. Genie 9- and 12-DIP-switch openers before 1995 take no current keypad.

GK2-P or GK2-R?
Same keypad. The -P is the professional pack, the -R the retail box.
