Miller Edge MG123 – 2-Inch Extruded Gate Edge

The Miller Edge MG123 is a 2-inch extruded sensing edge designed for motorized gates, sized for 1-3/4″ to 2″ gate surfaces. When lightly touched, it instantly sends an electrical signal to stop or reverse gate operation, providing reliable entrapment protection.

This slide-in style edge uses a double-T mounting design for superior stability, mounts vertically or horizontally, and is custom manufactured to your length, color and cord location.

Before you order — five things to confirm

1. Length. Mounted horizontally, measure the gate width less post caps. Mounted vertically, measure the post height less caps — not required to exceed 6 ft. Ordered in 1/4 inch increments.

2. Cord location. Left, right, end, top, or universal — see below.

3. Color. Black or yellow.

4. Monitoring. Monitored if your gate operator was built after January 2016. Gate operators use the T2 (10K resistive) designator.

5. Mounting channel. Choose a profile below, or select NONE if you are replacing an edge in a channel you already have.

Does Your Gate Operator Need a Module?

Most gate operators take a T2 edge with no module. Some brands need an interface module between the edge and the controller:

ModuleOperator Brands
GEM-102 IQ Gate (2/4-wire)
GEM-103 Eagle Access Control, IQ Gate, Nice, PPA America
GEM-104 All-O-Matic, Beninca, Byan Systems, FAAC, HySecurity, Maximum Controls, Ramset, SEA USA, V-Mag

AutoGate, B&B ARMR, BFT, DoorKing, GTO/Linear, Power Master, VE Power, Rotary, Torxun, USAutomatic and Viking need no module. For a wireless install, use the RBand monitored wireless system — no module required.

Mounting Channel Options

MG123 uses the same channels as the ME123, all measuring 1-1/2″ high × 2″ wide.

Mounting channel profiles compatible with Miller Edge MG123: ME123-C, C1, C2175, C3, CA3 and C7

OptionMaterial
NONE Edge only — for replacement in an existing channel
ME123-C High Density PVC
ME123-C1 High Density PVC
ME123-C2175 High Density PVC
ME123-C3 High Density PVC
ME123-CA3 Aluminum (brushed)
ME123-C7 High Density PVC

Cord Location

The cord location is where the lead exits the edge. Facing the operator side of the gate:

  • Mounted horizontally — is the operator on the left or the right?
  • Mounted vertically — should the wire outlet be at the top or the bottom?
  • End or Universal are also available

Get this wrong and the lead runs the opposite way across the opening — and the edge is built to order. See the Gate Edge Handing Guide if you are unsure.
