Miller Edge ME120 – Gate Sensing Edge for 1-1/2″ Surfaces
The Miller Edge ME120 is a touch-sensitive sensing edge sized for 1-1/4″ to 1-3/8″ gate surfaces, measuring 1-7/16″ wide by 1-11/16″ high. It provides reliable entrapment protection by instantly stopping or reversing motion on contact.
Paired with the optional ME120-C5 mounting channel, it forms a compliant sweep edge for the entrapment zone over driveways and curbs beneath swinging gates.
Before you order — five things to confirm
1. Length. Mounted horizontally, measure the gate width less post caps. Mounted vertically, measure the post height less caps — not required to exceed 6 ft. Ordered in 1/4 inch increments.
2. Cord location. Left, right, end, or top — see below.
3. Color. Black or yellow.
4. Monitoring. Monitored if your gate operator was built after January 2016. Gate operators use the T2 (10K resistive) designator.
5. Mounting channel. ME120-C, ME120-PC, or ME120-C5 for a sweep edge — see below.

Mounting Channel Options

| Option | Material | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| NONE | — | Edge only, for replacement in an existing channel |
| ME120-C | Black aluminum | Standard mount |
| ME120-PC | Black rigid PVC | Lower-cost alternative |
| ME120-C5 | Black aluminum | Sweep edge profile for swing gate entrapment zones |
A standalone ME120-C aluminum channel in 5 ft sections is also available separately.
Does Your Gate Operator Need a Module?
Most gate operators take a T2 edge with no module. Some brands need an interface module between the edge and the controller:
| Module | Operator Brands |
|---|---|
| GEM-102 | IQ Gate (2/4-wire) |
| GEM-103 | Eagle Access Control, IQ Gate, Nice, PPA America |
| GEM-104 | All-O-Matic, Beninca, Byan Systems, FAAC, HySecurity, Maximum Controls, Ramset, SEA USA, V-Mag |
AutoGate, B&B ARMR, BFT, DoorKing, GTO/Linear, Power Master, VE Power, Rotary, Torxun, USAutomatic and Viking need no module. For a wireless install, use the RBand monitored wireless system.
Cord Location
The cord location is where the lead exits the edge. Facing the operator side of the gate:
- Mounted horizontally — is the operator on the left or the right?
- Mounted vertically — should the wire outlet be at the top or the bottom?
- End is also available

Get this wrong and the lead runs the opposite way across the opening — and the edge is built to order. See the Gate Edge Handing Guide if you are unsure.
