Genuine LiftMaster INSL24UL — a 24VDC brushless-DC, continuous-duty industrial slide gate operator rated for gates up to 2,200 lb and 70 ft. Variable speed (0.5–1 ft/s) with soft start and soft stop, battery backup as standard, a built-in Security+ 2.0 receiver and the monitored entrapment devices in the box so it can be installed to UL 325 (2018) out of the carton. LiftMaster positions it as the direct retrofit for the older SL585 and SL595 AC operators: same pad, existing wiring, and the MRIN riser mount bridges the old footprint.
INSL24UL or IHSL24UL? Weigh the gate honestly. The INSL24UL carries 2,200 lb / 70 ft on #40 chain. The IHSL24UL carries 5,500 lb / 90 ft on #50 chain and draws more current. Under 1,500 lb and 50 ft on a level gate, the CSL24UL is the usual answer; heavy gates in extreme duty go to the HDSL24UL. Both industrial models use the same limit system, encoder, alarm and harness kit, so parts stock overlaps.

What is in the box
Operator with batteries, LMRRUL monitored retro-reflective photo eye, S505AL 5 ft monitored resistive edge with aluminium channel, mounting hardware and manual. LiftMaster lists the drive chain as a separate kit — tell us the gate length when you order and we will quote #40 chain with it. Remotes, keypads and loop detectors are sold separately.
UL 325 entrapment protection. LiftMaster ships one LMRRUL monitored photo eye and one S505AL 5 ft monitored edge in the box. That covers one entrapment zone. Every other pinch point on the gate — the trailing edge, the space between the gate and a post or wall, the second leaf — needs its own monitored device, and the operator only recognises LiftMaster monitored devices. Non-monitored eyes and contact-closure edges are ignored.

Common questions
Does it replace an SL585 or SL595 directly?
That is what it is built for. The existing pad and wiring stay; the MRIN riser mount takes up the difference in footprint. You will add the monitored photo eye and edge that the old AC operator never had, because the INSL24UL will not run a close cycle without them.
Is myQ built in?
The operator is myQ-ready, but the internet connection comes from the 828LM gateway (Ethernet), sold separately. With the gateway fitted you get open / close alerts and control from the myQ app, and the operator reports into a CAPXLV-series or CAP2D access control system.
Can I run it on solar?
The installation manual allows a solar input of up to 60 W on the INSL24UL, but this is a continuous-duty industrial operator and its cycle count on solar is limited by the batteries. For a solar site with real traffic, ask us before you commit.
Three-phase power at the site?
Fit the 3PHCONV transformer kit and feed it from 208, 240, 460 or 575 VAC.
Cold climate?
Order the HTR heater kit. The batteries lose capacity below freezing and the heater keeps the enclosure above it.
