LiftMaster CSL24UL Commercial Slide Gate Operator with Battery Backup
The LiftMaster CSL24UL (replaces the older CSL24VDC and CSL24U) is a 24VDC continuous-duty commercial slide gate operator with battery backup included, built for high-traffic sites — gated communities, commercial complexes and industrial premises.
What ships in the box. UL325 compliant to the August 2018 revision, so it includes the LMRRU monitored photo eye, a 5 ft safety edge for the rear of the gate and 25 ft of drive chain. Exit loops, remotes and keypads are sold separately.

CSL24UL Error Codes & Troubleshooting
The CSL24UL displays a two-digit diagnostic code on the control board. Here are the ones that come up most often.
| Code | Description / Solution |
|---|---|
| 31 | Control board internal failure – disconnect all power for 15 seconds and reboot; replace the board if it persists |
| 34 | Absolute position encoder error – check the operator cable connections, then reprogram the limits |
| 35 | Max run time exceeded – check for an obstruction on the track and reprogram the limits |
| 40 / 41 / 42 | Battery over-voltage, over-current or no battery at boot – check the harness and confirm a correct 24V setup |
| 43 / 44 / 45 | Loop error on the exit, shadow or interrupt loop – check loop wiring for a short or an open connection |
| 46 | Wireless edge battery low – replace the batteries in the wireless edge |
| 53 | Brownout – the supply dipped below the allowable level; review the power supply and wiring |
| 60 | Minimum monitored entrapment device not installed – check the photo eye connections |
| 61–68 | Eye or edge held or triggered more than 3 minutes – check alignment, wiring and obstructions |
| 70–75 | Eye or edge triggered, causing a reversal or preventing close – if there was no obstruction, check alignment and wiring |
| 91 / 92 | Force reversal – check for an obstruction and that the gate rolls freely on its track |
| 93 / 94 | RPM or stall reversal – check wiring, chain tension and that the gate is not binding |
| 99 | Normal operation – no action required |

Replaces Older Models
The CSL24UL supersedes the CSL24VDC and CSL24U, and is also sold as the CSL24ULMC. Mounting and gate requirements are unchanged, so it is a direct replacement on an existing installation.
