Genuine Ramset replacement parts for the RAM 50 slide gate operator, listed against the factory parts diagram above. Find the reference number on the drawing, match it in the table below and click the part number to order. Assembly breakdowns follow the main list, so you can buy a complete assembly or just the one component inside it that failed.
The RAM 50 is a chain-drive slide gate opener — the gate is pulled along by a length of #41 chain running over a drive sprocket, with idler wheels taking up the slack at each end. If you know it as a Ramset R50 gate opener rather than an operator, it is the same unit.
Control board notice. The Intelligate board 800-63-00 (Domestic UL) at reference 21 has been discontinued by Ramset. The current replacement path is the ETL board set — 800-65-01 logic board (specify AC or DC), 800-65-02 AC driver, 800-65-05 DC driver — or the 800-76-50 upgrade kit, which bundles the board, edge connector, transformer and mounting plate. Send us a photo of your existing board if you are unsure which you have.

Most calls we take about the RAM 50 come down to one of the following. Work through them in the order given — the cheap checks come first on purpose.
The RAM 50 uses a spring-loaded limit arm rather than cams. Check the two limit switches (ref 12) and their nuts (ref 13), then the springs (ref 14), the spring-loaded bracket (ref 16) and the limit switch base (ref 17). A tired spring is a common cause and a cheap fix.

Chain tension on a RAM 50 is carried by the two idler wheels (ref 30). The UHMW wheels wear oval and stop taking up slack. Check those first, then the drive sprocket (ref 7) for hooked teeth, then the chain itself. Replacing a worn chain onto a worn sprocket will not last.
Parts: 800-75-28 · 800-06-13 · 800-75-67 · 800-52-02 · 800-52-51
Start with the motor start capacitor (ref 6) — it is the cheapest part here and a frequent failure. Then check the 4L-170 drive belt (ref 10) for glazing or slack and the two pulleys (refs 8 and 9). The gear reducer (ref 4) is the expensive one; rule out the belt first.
Parts: 800-04-91 · 800-10-00 · 800-08-22 · 800-08-27 · 800-02-15
The chain release (ref 31) is the disconnect. The chain bolt release and its coupler are the parts that seize, usually from corrosion where the assembly sits low in the chain run.
Parts: 800-75-60 · 800-52-36 · 800-52-35
Work back from the power in: the rocker switch (ref 19) and outlet (ref 20), then the transformer (ref 18), then the control board (ref 21) and its edge connector (ref 22). If the wall button works but the remote does not, it is the radio receiver terminal (ref 23).
Parts: 800-60-10 · 800-60-21 · 800-60-01 · 800-63-00 · 800-64-50
None of this is a substitute for a service call on a gate that is binding, dragging, or riding badly on its rollers or track. A mechanical problem in the gate will destroy whichever part you fit.
The RAM 50 shares its chain release, chain hardware and several control components with the larger Ramset slide operators. If you are not certain which unit you have, check the label inside the cover.
Ramset part numbers all begin 800- and are stamped or labelled on most major components. If the number on your part has worn off, match it visually against the diagram above and confirm the reference number rather than going by the description alone — several Ramset gate openers use similar looking parts in different sizes.
