Genuine Ramset replacement parts for the RAM 5200 high-traffic sliding gate operator. Use the exploded diagram above to find the reference number for the part you need, then click any part number in the tables below to go straight to that item. Everything here fits the RAM 5200 gate opener specifically — if you are working on a RAM 5000 or RAM 5100, see the links at the bottom of this page.

One diagram, three models — and the RAM 5200 is the 230V one. Ramset publishes a single parts drawing (Figure 14) for the RAM 5000, RAM 5100 and RAM 5200. The RAM 5200 runs a 1 HP 230VAC motor, 800-04-13, where the RAM 5000 and RAM 5100 are 115VAC. It also ships without the rocker switch (ref 18) fitted to the other two. The table below is filtered to RAM 5200 parts only.

Assembly Breakdowns

Five items on the diagram are assemblies. Each is sold complete, and the individual components inside are listed here so you can order just the piece that failed.

Idler Wheel Assembly — 800-75-31

Two per operator. The idler wheels are the wear item — if the chain is chattering or the gate judders at speed, replace the wheels and bushings before anything else. The complete assembly is available as 800-75-31; the parts inside it are listed below.

Part Number Description Qty
800-36-52 Bolt, Hex Head - 5/8" - 11 x 3 1/2" 1

Common Ramset RAM 5200 Faults and the Parts That Fix Them

Operator will not start after a service or a wiring change

The RAM 5200 is the 230VAC model. Confirm the supply is genuinely 230V and that the breaker is a two-pole. A RAM 5200 wired to 115V will hum, draw heavily and trip the motor overload — reset the red button on the back of the 800-04-13 motor once the supply is corrected. Voltage drop matters on long runs: 12 gauge is only good to 465 feet on this model.

Gate stalls on a heavy gate

The RAM 5200 is rated to 3,000 lbs, the heaviest of the three. If it is struggling, the gate is the first suspect: check the V-track, the guide rollers, and whether the gate rolls freely by hand with the 800-75-60 chain release open.

Gate runs, then stops a few feet in and reverses

The Electronic Reversing Device is reading resistance. Cheapest check first: clear the track, then look at the idler wheels — worn 800-73-71 wheels bind the chain and read as an obstruction. If the track is clean, the ERD sensitivity is set on the control board (rotary switch S8, or dip C7/C8).

Nothing lights up at all

Check the breaker, then the ½ amp fuse, then the transformer 800-60-01 — it is a dual-input unit and must be wired to the 230V side on this model. If 18–24V is present at the board input and LED 1 is still dark, the 800-63-00 control board power supply has failed.

Gate overshoots or stops short of the limit

The limit nuts have walked on the shaft. That is the 800-75-72 limit shaft assembly — the 800-20-50 nuts and 800-70-10 collars are what slip. Also check the two 800-20-04 limit switches and the 800-52-20 limit chain for stretch.

Motor hums but the gate does not move

Belt first — 800-10-03 is a 4L-210 and it is the cheapest part on the operator. If the belt is good and tensioned, look at the 800-08-30 and 800-08-40 pulleys for a spun bore, then the 800-02-05 gear reducer.

Other Ramset Slide Gate Opener Parts

The RAM 5200 is a continuous-duty chain-drive slide gate opener rated to 40 feet and 3,000 lbs, driven by a 1 HP 230VAC motor. All parts listed are genuine Ramset. If you are not sure which part you need, the reference numbers on the diagram match the numbers printed in your RAM 5200 instruction manual.
