LiftMaster 8500 and 8500W Jackshaft Replacement Parts
The 8500 and 8500W are wall mount jackshaft openers — they drive the torsion bar directly and have no rail, trolley or overhead assembly. The 8500W is the Wi-Fi version; mechanically the two are the same opener and share the motor, travel module, transformer, chain, sprockets, lock and sensors. Everything for both is on this page, each section with its own diagram.
Door will not open and the opener beeps? On a jackshaft that is often the cable tension monitor doing its job — it stops the opener when a cable goes slack. Check the cables and springs before replacing the monitor itself. If the door is locked and will not move at all, check the power door lock.

If the number on your travel module reads 41A6408, the 041B8861 above is its replacement.
8500W owners — check the board number first. The Wi-Fi hardware on an 8500W sits on its logic board, so the board is the one part where the two models can differ. The 041DJ002MC listed above is the board we stock. Read the number printed on the board you are removing and call (866) 965-5599 with it before ordering — we will confirm it rather than have you fit a board that will not pair. Every other part on this page fits both models.
2. Drive Chain and Sprockets
The jackshaft drives the torsion bar through a short chain rather than a rail. If the door judders or the chain has jumped, check the sprockets before replacing the chain.

The 841LM automatic door lock is the current version; its upgrade kit and the 041D8615 split coupling are no longer available.

If you need eyes and brackets, the 041-0365-000 is the complete set and works out cheaper than buying both separately. If your brackets are sound, the 041-0136 eye kit alone is all you need.

5. Wall Controls, Remotes and MyQ
Both the 8500 and 8500W are MyQ openers, so unlike the older LiftMaster models they take the current control panels and accessories.
