Genuine GTO / Linear RVCTBD3040 rev counter board — the revolution-counting sensor board for the PRO SW3000 and SW4000 (non-XL) swing gate openers. It is one of the cheapest boards in the operator and the first one to check when a gate that used to run to its limits starts overrunning or stopping short.
Which rev counter board do I have?
The rev counter board is the small sensor board that counts motor revolutions so the logic board knows where the gate is. When it fails or drifts the gate overruns, stops short or loses its limits. Each operator family has its own:
| Operator | Rev counter board |
|---|---|
| PRO SW3000XLS, SW4000XLS | R4918 |
| PRO SW3000XL, SW4000XL | RVCTBDXL |
| PRO SW3000, SW4000 (non-XL) | RVCTBD3040 |
| PRO SW2000XLS, SW2002XLS | R4192 |
| Mighty Mule MM350, MM500, MM502 series (and PRO 2000XL) | RVCTBD50 |

Is the rev counter actually the problem?
| Symptom | Check first |
|---|---|
| Gate overruns or stops short; limits drift | This board, after cleaning the sensor and checking its wiring |
| Gate reverses partway with nothing in the way | Obstruction sensitivity setting first, then this board |
| Gate will not learn its limits | This board |
| Opener dead or runs slowly | The battery and transformer, not this board |
| Remotes do nothing | The logic board’s transmitter memory, not this board |
After fitting
Re-learn the open and close limits on the logic board and run the gate through several full cycles before handing it back.
