DoorKing 1812-089 Plus Telephone Entry Intercom — Surface Mount
The 1812-089 is the surface-mount Plus model in DoorKing's 1812 range — the updated version of the 1812 Classic. It uses your existing telephone as the gate intercom: a visitor presses the button, your phone rings with a distinctive double ring, and you press a digit to let them in. No second phone line, no separate handset in the house.
Over the Classic it adds an upgraded processor, a high fidelity digital voice circuit, better volume control, a lighted push button, and far more call-out numbers.

Features

The time zone features are the ones owners actually use. Hold the gate open during a party or a delivery window, silence gate calls at night, or give a housekeeper a code that only works on weekdays.
Classic, Plus or Access Plus?
Three feature levels on the same 1812 platform. The difference is capacity and how you programme it.

No landline? No problem
The 1812 connects in series with a residential phone line, but most homes no longer have one. Cellular and VoIP options replace it:

Common questions
Do I need a separate phone line at the gate? No — that is the point of the 1812. It works through your existing line, and you answer the gate on the phone you already have. If you have no landline, cellular or VoIP covers it.
How many people can it call? Up to 27 numbers, which is what separates the Plus from the Classic's three.
How many entry codes? 50, four digits each, and you can put them on time zones so a code only works when you want it to.
Can it call my mobile? Yes. Programme a cell number and the call box dials it — you can talk to a visitor and open the gate from anywhere.
Plus or Access Plus? Both hold 27 numbers. Access Plus adds PC and network programming and up to six additional access points. If you will manage codes from a laptop or control more than one entrance, pay the difference.
Will it open my existing gate operator? Yes. Two relays, dry contact output — any gate operator will accept it, whatever the brand.
Surface or flush mount? This is surface mount — it bolts onto a post or wall and is the simpler retrofit. Flush mount sets into a pillar for a cleaner finish but needs a rough-in box built into the structure.
What post do I need? 1200-045 for a concrete pad, 1200-046 gooseneck for setting into ground.
