Genuine LiftMaster SPLMUNTG — the dual-purpose vehicle RFID tag for the LMSC1000 long-range reader, supplied in lots of 50 and custom-coded to your facility code and starting ID. It mounts on the inside of the windshield or on the outside of a headlamp lens, and the reader picks it up at 20–30 ft so the gate opens as the vehicle approaches — no remote, no card, nothing for the driver to do.
SP = special order. The stock LiftMaster tag is the LMUNTG with a default facility code. SPLMUNTG is the same tag programmed to the facility code and start number you specify, which is what you need when a community already has tags in service and the new batch has to match. Confirm the facility code and the next free ID before ordering — coded tags are made to order. For a tag that moves between vehicles, see the SPLMHNTG rear-view mirror hang tag.

LiftMaster RFID tags
| Tag | Mount | Use it when |
|---|---|---|

Where to put it
| Location | Rule |
|---|---|
| Windshield (inside) | Clean the glass, apply by the edges, smooth out air pockets. Keep 2.5 in from metal — roof line, pillars and the mirror block — and off darkened trim or metallic tint. |
| Headlamp (outside the lens) | At least 2 in from metal and about 2.5 in above the bottom reflector. The best choice when the windshield has a metallic or heated coating that blocks UHF. |
| Alternatives | Bumper, valance or side-mirror housing, plastic surfaces only. |
Match the tag to the reader. LiftMaster specifies these tags for the LMSC1000 and no other reader. A site with a TransCore, AWID, DoorKing or Infinity reader needs that maker's tags — see the RFID tags category. Order tags before you order the reader, and order them all from one coding run so the numbers stay sequential.
The system
The LMSC1000 reads the tag and hands the number to the access controller as a 26-bit Wiegand credential, so the tag is enrolled like any card. LiftMaster tests it with the CAPXL / CAPXLV2 intercoms and the CAP2D two-door controller, and enrolment for a myQ Community site is done in the portal. Any controller with a 26-bit Wiegand input can use it.
Common questions
Do I need the SP version or the stock LMUNTG?
If the site already has LiftMaster tags in service, order SPLMUNTG coded to the existing facility code so the controller treats old and new tags the same. A brand-new site can use either.
How are the tags enrolled?
Each tag carries its ID number. Enter the ID and facility code in the controller or the myQ Community portal against the resident or vehicle, the same way you would a card.
Can a tag be moved to a new car?
No. The label destroys itself when peeled. Issue a new tag and delete the old ID from the controller. For vehicles that change, use the SPLMHNTG hang tag.
Will it read through a metallic windshield?
Usually not. Mount it on the headlamp instead — that is why the tag is dual-purpose.
Will other UHF readers see it?
LiftMaster supports these tags only on the LMSC1000. We do not sell them for use with other makers' readers.
