Genuine LiftMaster K1D6686CC expansion board — the second board in the electrical box of the 2012–2015 CSL24V / CSL24VH slide and CSW24V / CSW24VH swing gate operators, the generation that runs the K1D6597-1CC main board. The expansion board carries the accessory inputs (loops, photo eyes, edges, wired controls) and plugs into the main board. Each generation of the CSL24 / CSW24 has its own pair, and they do not mix.
Match the expansion board to the main board. Read the number on the main board: K1D6597-1CC → this K1D6686CC. K1D8059-1CC (CSL24VDC / CSW24VDC) → K1D8080-1CC. K1D8389-1CC (CSL24U / CSW24U, UL325) → K1D8387-1CC.

Upgrading instead? The K1D8389-1CCU upgrade kit converts a 2012–2015 V / VH / VDC operator to the current UL325 boards with monitored eyes, and replaces both boards at once.

Is the board actually the problem?
The logic board is the most over-ordered part on a commercial operator. Work down this list before you buy:
| Symptom | Check first |
|---|---|
| Accessories (loops, eyes, edge) ignored but the gate runs from the board buttons | This expansion board, or its ribbon connection to the main board |
| Operator dead, no board lights | Transformer, EMI board and rectifier before either board |
| Gate loses position | APS encoder, not the boards |
| Dead after a storm | Both boards can go — check the main board too, and fit surge protection |
After fitting
Re-connect every accessory to the same terminals, then re-test each one — loops, eyes and edge — and the entrapment reversal before returning the gate to service.
Fit surge protection when you fit the board. Lightning and utility surges are the most common reason a commercial operator board is replaced, and a new board on the same unprotected supply is at the same risk. The MOV kit on the electrical box is the first line; a proper surge arrester on the supply is the second.
