Apollo changed the motor, chain and sprocket together, which is why the replacement is a kit rather than a single motor. The new motor will not run on the old chain and sprocket.
Before you order the replacement
Check for Mercury 310 compatibility. Operators that take the Mercury 310 carry a 2" × 5" label above the model identification section on the operator box.
If you are on a 1050US controller, the new motor wires in and the operator works normally, but the motor encoder wires will not connect — the 1050US cannot use the encoder. See the kit page for the detail.

Common questions
