LiftMaster LA400 Dual Swing Gate Operator Kit
The LiftMaster LA400PKGUL-DUAL is a complete two-arm kit for automating dual (bi-parting) swing gates — the double-gate setup where two leaves meet in the middle. It includes everything needed to power both gate leaves: two 24VDC linear actuator arms, a control box with built-in Security+ 2.0 receiver, monitored safety photo eyes, and battery backup.
Each arm handles a gate leaf up to 16 ft long or 850 lbs, making this ideal for residential driveways, HOA entrances and light commercial properties with double swing gates. Fully UL325 compliant with the included monitored safety devices.

LiftMaster LA400 Error Codes — Dual Gate Systems
On a dual system the arms are numbered: Arm 1 is the primary, Arm 2 the secondary. Most codes come in pairs so you can tell which arm needs attention.

|---|---|
| 31 | Main control board internal failure — disconnect power for 15 seconds and reboot; replace the board if it persists |
| 32 / 33 | Linear drive disengaged, Arm 1 / Arm 2 — re-engage the arm, check wiring and connections |
| 35 | Max run time exceeded — check for an obstruction, then reprogram the limits |
| 36 / 37 | Product ID error or failure — reseat the product ID harness and reboot before replacing it |
| 38 / 39 | Hard stop limit, Arm 1 / Arm 2 — limit set too tight or the operator is at end of travel; re-adjust |
| 40 / 41 / 42 | Battery over-voltage, over-current or none at boot — check the harness and confirm a correct 24V setup |
| 43–45 | Loop errors, exit / shadow / interrupt — check loop wiring for shorts or open connections |
| 51 / 52 | Pass-point not detected, Arm 1 / Arm 2 — check yellow pass-point wiring; reprogram limits if inaccurate |
| 53 | Brownout — the AC/DC supply dipped too low; review the power supply and wiring |
| 54 / 80 / 81 | Wireless or second-operator communication error — check power and re-learn the second operator |
| 60 | Minimum monitored entrapment devices not installed — add at least one external safety device |
| 61–75 | Eye or edge held, triggered too long, or causing reversal — check alignment, inputs, wiring and obstructions |
| 82 / 83 | Expansion board communication fault — check the connections between the main and expansion boards |
| 84 | Non-monitored device on the wireless safety system — use monitored devices only and check edge orientation |
| 91 / 92 | Force reversal, Arm 1 / Arm 2 — check for an obstruction and that the assembly moves freely |
| 93 / 94 | RPM or stall reversal — check obstruction and wiring; replace the APE assembly if needed |
| 99 | Normal operation — no action required |
