Genuine LiftMaster LA400DCS — the secondary 24VDC actuator arm for a dual-leaf LA400 swing gate system. It is the same linear actuator as the primary arm but supplied with a 40 ft lead to reach the control box across the driveway, plus the mounting hardware. Use it to add a second leaf to a single LA400 installation, or to replace the second arm on an existing LA400PKGUL-DUAL system. The control box runs both arms; no second control box is needed.
Primary or secondary? The primary arm (LA400DC) has a short lead and mounts on the leaf nearest the control box. The secondary (this arm) has the 40 ft lead for the far leaf. A secondary is not for stand-alone use — it needs a working LA400 control box (LA400CONTUL) and a primary arm. It is 24VDC and does not fit the 12VDC LA412 (use the LA412DCS) or the LA500 (use the LA500DCS).

UL 325. A second leaf is a second entrapment zone. The dual kit ships with the monitored devices for both leaves; when you add a leaf to a single system, add its own monitored photo eye (LMRRUL) and edge (S505AL or the LMWEKITU wireless kit) so the operator will close automatically.
After fitting
Set the arm's open and close limits, set the leaf delay so the overlapping leaf closes last, and re-learn the monitored devices for the new zone. Run the gate through a full cycle with the obstruction test before leaving.
Common questions
Is the arm itself different from the primary?
Only the lead length and hardware. The actuator is the same 24VDC unit, which is why the leaf rating is identical.
My LA400 is an early one — will it fit?
The arm design changed style in 2014. Send us a photo of the existing arm and the control box before ordering and we will confirm.
Does it fit an LA412 or LA500 control box?
No. LA412 is 12VDC, LA500 is a larger 24VDC arm. Each has its own secondary.
Is a junction box included?
The kit ships the arm with its 40 ft lead and mounting hardware. If the original junction box at the far post is missing or damaged, order the LA400-JB40.
