Genuine DoorKing 1890-010 display board — the single-line, 8-character LCD programming display used on the DoorKing 1802, 1803 and 1810 telephone entry systems. It shows the programming prompts and, on the 1810, the directory codes. A dark or garbled display on a unit that still dials and opens the gate is this board or its ribbon cable.
Match the display to the unit. 1802, 1803 and 1810 use this 8 x 1 display. The 1802-EPD (electronic directory) uses the 16-character 1902-010; the 1834 / 1835 use the 20-character 1891-010.

Is the board actually the problem?
The board is the most over-ordered part on a telephone entry system. Work down this list before you buy:
| Symptom | Check first |
|---|---|
| Display dark, unit otherwise works | This board, after checking its ribbon cable |
| Display dark and the unit is dead | The 16.5 VAC transformer and the low-voltage surge suppressor before anything |
| Garbled characters | The ribbon cable, then this board |
After fitting
Check the programming prompts read correctly and, on the 1810, that the directory codes display before closing the faceplate.
