Linear Delta 3 DT Remotes 310 MHz 8 Dip Switches

Linear Delta 3 & DT Remotes — 310 MHz, 8 Dip Switches

The Delta 3 / DT format is Linear's classic radio system: 310 MHz with 8 dip switches inside the transmitter. It has been fitted to residential garage door openers and community gate operators for decades, and it is still the most common Linear format in the field. Everything on this page — transmitters, receivers, complete sets, antennas and spares — runs on that one format.

Check your frequency first. Linear also built 318 MHz Mega Code (learn code, no dip switches), 300 MHz Multi Code (10 dip switches) and 303.875 / 315 MHz Alert (8 dip switches). None of them cross over. Count the switches in your existing remote: eight means you are on this page. Ten means you want Multi Code. None at all means Mega Code.

Transmitters

Model Linear part What it is
DT / DTC / DTA / DTD DNT00002A Single-button visor remote. The standard Delta 3 transmitter and the one most people are replacing.
DT2A DNT00017A Two-button transmitter
DT 3+1 DNT00027A Three-channel plus one
DT4 DNT00027B Four-channel transmitter
LB Mini T DNT00026 Mini key-ring transmitter
DTKP DNT00062 Wireless keypad — keyless entry on the same 310 MHz format
DTG DNT00072 Safety edge transmitter

Receivers and complete sets

If the opener has no Linear radio fitted at all, a set is the straightforward answer — receiver and transmitters matched and ready.

Model Linear part What it is
DS DNP00011 Complete set — receiver plus one remote
DD DNP00006 Complete set — receiver plus two remotes
DR / DR3A DNR00001 Single-channel receiver, 24 volt
GRD DNR00101 Current receiver. Replaces the DRG and DRG-LV.
GRD-2 DNR00102 Two-channel version of the GRD

Discontinued receivers — what to order instead

Most of the older DR-series receivers are no longer made. If you are holding one of these part numbers, the current equivalent is in the right-hand column.

Old model Linear part Order instead
DRG / DRG-LV GRD
DR2, 2-channel DNR00018 GRD-2
DR4, 4-channel DNR00023A Call us — channel count and voltage determine the substitute
DR4-12, 4-channel 12V DNR00057 Call us
DRA, single channel 12V DNR00012 DR / DR3A if 24V suits, otherwise call
DRQ long-range coax DNR00013P Call us — long-range coax needs matching to the site

Programming a Delta 3 remote

Open the battery compartment on your existing working remote and note the up/down position of all eight switches, left to right. Set the new remote's switches to the identical pattern. That is the entire procedure — there is no learn button and nothing to press on the opener.

If no working remote survives, open the receiver and read the pattern there instead. Failing that, set both the receiver and the new remote to a fresh pattern of your own choosing — any pattern works as long as both match.

Universal remotes. The LiftMaster 374UT and 380UT will operate a Delta 3 receiver, but they have no physical dip switches — they learn the code from a working remote. If nothing works any more, you need a dip-switch transmitter or a complete DS set.

Common questions

Eight switches or ten? Eight means Delta 3 at 310 MHz — this page. Ten means Multi Code at 300 MHz. They are not interchangeable.

Will a DT work on my gate? Yes, if the gate operator carries a 310 MHz Delta 3 receiver. The format makes no distinction between gate and garage.

My new remote doesn't work. In order: the switch pattern is reversed left-to-right, the frequency is wrong, or the battery is flat out of the pack.

Range has dropped. Almost always the antenna. An EXA-1000 gets the wire clear of the metal enclosure.
