DoorKing 605 & 610 Swing Gate Operator Parts

DoorKing 605 & 610 Swing Gate Operator Parts

Replacement parts for the DoorKing 605 and 610 swing gate operators — belt-driven, clutch-protected units that DKS built through the 1990s and into the 2000s. Many are still running. The two models share most of their drivetrain, so the parts below cover both.

Order by the number stamped on the part, not by your operator model. DoorKing revised this operator repeatedly across its production run, and several parts changed number without the model changing. The supersession table further down is keyed to operator serial number — find yours before ordering.

Master or slave?

These operators were sold in two configurations for dual-gate installations.

Model Configuration Control board
0610-080 Master Yes — the master carries the control board for the pair
0610-081 Slave No. The slave takes its commands from the master.

If you are troubleshooting a dual-gate installation and one leaf will not move, check which unit is which before assuming a board fault — a slave with no board is normal, not broken.

Supersession — check your serial number first

DoorKing changed several parts during production. If your operator predates the change, the old number will not be available and you need the replacement. Serial ranges are from the factory drawing.

95-11-1 4001-015 lock 4001-035 Nov 1995

99-12-1 2600-081 shaft 2600-166 cross keyed — and add keyway 1601-019 Dec 1999

The December 1999 change is the one that catches people. Replacing the pulley on a pre-99 operator means the shaft and keyway change too — the 2600-567 pulley will not run on the old 2600-081 shaft. Order all three together or the job stops halfway.

Drive — belt, pulley, shaft and bearings

Part What it is
2600-089 Drive belt, 30" — cross-references to an AX28 V-belt
2600-568 Pulley, 8" cast iron
2600-567 Pulley, 7" cast iron — the post-1999 part
2600-109 Pulley, 1 3/4" OD with keyway
2600-166 Cross keyed shaft
2600-675 Shaft assembly, 605/610
1601-019 Keyway, 3/16 x 3/16 x 1
2600-049 Bearing, bronze 3/4" OD x 5/8" ID
2600-084 Bearing, thrust 5/8" ID
2600-856 Bearing, bronze 7/8" OD x 5/8" ID
2600-043 Bearing, plastic 1-1/4" ID
2600-061 Collar, 2" OD x 1-1/4" ID
2600-088 Collar, 5/8"
2600-054 Bushing
2630-010 Snap ring, 1.25"

Shims matter on this operator. Three thicknesses are used to set the drivetrain: 2600-090, 2600-091 and 2600-092, all 1-1/8" OD x 5/8" ID. The factory drawing calls for resetting the shims and the set collar whenever the bearing is changed — skipping that step is why a rebuilt operator comes back noisy.

Clutch

The clutch protects the drivetrain by slipping under excessive load. A clutch that slips in normal operation is worn or out of adjustment; one that never slips is not protecting anything.

Part What it is
2600-680 Clutch plate, 7"
2801-002 Clutch pad, 7" OD — fits 605, 610 and 6100. Two are used.
2600-183 Belleville washer, 1.5" OD x 0.5" ID — sets clutch pressure
2620-220 Washer, 1.25 x 2 x .0625

Motor and electrical

Part What it is
2600-129 Motor assembly, 1/2 HP
2600-838 Motor base, 1/2 HP
2600-102 Capacitor, 50µF 370VAC — check this first if the motor hums but will not start
2600-360 Counter wheel magnetic assembly
2600-613 Bracket, magnetic counter, potted
3004-010 Magnetic counter probe, threaded
2600-668 Circuit board support bracket, 605/610
2600-414 Terminal block, 2 position

2600-830 Jumper, ring tongue
2600-619 Wire clip, 5/8"
1804-031 Tie wrap, 4"

Slave operators have no control board. If you are ordering a board for a dual-gate site, it goes in the master (0610-080). Confirm which unit you are working on before ordering.

Common questions

What is the difference between the 605 and the 610? They share most of the drivetrain — baseplate, shaft assembly, board support bracket and clutch parts are common to both. Order by the number on the part.

My gate operator hums but does not move. Check the 2600-102 capacitor before anything else. A failed capacitor produces exactly this symptom and costs a fraction of a motor.

One of my two gates will not move. If it is the slave (0610-081), remember it has no control board of its own — it takes commands from the master. Check the master and the interconnect before condemning the slave.

The operator is noisy after a rebuild. The factory drawing calls for resetting the shims and the set collar whenever the bearing is changed. Skipping that is the usual cause.

I need a pulley for a pre-1999 operator. Check your serial number. From 99-12-1 the pulley, shaft and keyway all changed together — see the supersession table above.

Where is my serial number? On the operator data plate inside the enclosure. You need it to use the supersession table.

Is the 605 or 610 still made? No — these are long out of production, which is why parts availability matters. We keep the common wear items in stock and can source most of the rest.
