Is this the right belt?

Two things must match: the belt family and the door height. Check the number printed on your old belt — if it reads 041A5250 or 41A5250, this is the one. Otherwise go by your opener model, which should be one of: WD822K, WD912KS, WD922K, LW2000, LW3500.

Measure the door opening, not the old belt — if someone previously fitted the wrong length, measuring it repeats the mistake.

Wrong family? The 41A3589 fits 1270, 1280, 1280R. The 41A5434 fits 2500, 2580, 2280, 3280, 3500, 3850, 8550. These are not interchangeable. See the belt and rail selector if you are unsure.

Is the belt actually the problem?

Common questions

Will an aftermarket belt void my warranty? If the opener is still under a manufacturer warranty that specifies OEM parts, fit the genuine belt. On an out-of-warranty opener — which is most of them by the time a belt fails — there is nothing to void.

Does it last as long? Belt life depends far more on tension and rail condition than on brand. A correctly tensioned belt on a greased rail lasts years; a slack belt on a dry rail does not, whoever made it.

Is it exactly the same size? Yes — same length and groove profile as the 041A5250. It fits the same pulley and the same trolley.

Is it the same as a Chamberlain or Craftsman belt? Yes. Those openers share the drivetrain with LiftMaster, so this belt fits all three.

Does it come with a trolley? No, this is the belt only.
