LiftMaster SWG606 heavy-duty uphill gate hinges — one pair (two hinges, one gate leaf) of steel hinges on bronze bearings with a 3/4 in hinge bolt and 1/2 in weldable plates, rated 2,000 lb per pair, built for gates that must rise as they swing (up to 15% lift) and for heavy or high-use gates on any operator. The hinge does the lifting so the operator arm does not have to fight the slope.
When you need an uphill hinge. A driveway that climbs away from the gate means a flat-swinging leaf drags on the ground within the first foot or two of travel. The SWG606 tilts the hinge axis so the leaf lifts as it opens and settles as it closes; the operator sees a level swing. Set the lift by the angle you weld the plates — the leaflet gives the offset per foot of leaf for each percent of slope. Note that LiftMaster's current operator manuals no longer cover inclined installations; the hinge is what makes an uphill gate workable, but on a steep drive talk to us about the leaf length and operator first.

Is this a pair or a single hinge?
A pair — top and bottom for one leaf.
Can I fit them to an existing gate?
Yes, if you can cut the old hinges off and weld. The leaf comes off the post, the new plates are welded to post and leaf at the calculated offset, and the operator limits are re-set.
Steel or aluminum gate?
Steel or iron. Aluminum leaves need a bolt-on bracket made up to suit; call us.
