Genuine LiftMaster VKP1-MYQ-BT1 — the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack for the myQ Smart Garage Video Keypad, both the LiftMaster VKP1-LM and the Chamberlain VKP1-MYQ (they are the same keypad). The keypad is wireless, so this pack is what runs the 1080p camera, the Wi-Fi radio and the keypad; a charge lasts one to three months depending on how often the camera wakes, and the pack comes out of the keypad to charge indoors on the supplied USB cable. Buy a second one and the keypad never goes dark while the first is charging.
Is the battery the problem? A keypad that drops off Wi-Fi, records nothing overnight or shows the fast-blinking amber light is at 5% or below — charge it before you assume the keypad has failed. A pack that will not hold a charge for more than a couple of weeks after two years of service is at the end of its life, which is normal for lithium-ion in a hot or freezing garage wall.

Keeping the keypad alive
Charge the pack fully before the first install and again the first time the app warns you. Motion-detection zones drawn tightly around the driveway, rather than the street, are the biggest single saver of battery. In winter expect shorter runs — lithium-ion loses capacity below freezing and the keypad lives outdoors.

No — one pack ships in every keypad. This is the spare or the replacement.
Can I charge it in the keypad?
The pack is designed to come out and charge on the cable. That is why a second pack is worth having: swap, and the keypad is never off the wall for hours.
