DoorKing 1802-090 EPD Telephone Entry System — 100 Capacity
The 1802-090 is DoorKing's 1802-EPD — Electronic Programmable Directory. It is a compact telephone entry system with a built-in electronic directory display, holding up to 100 names and phone numbers. A visitor scrolls the directory, finds the resident, and the system calls them; the resident grants or denies access from a touch-tone phone.
The compact footprint is the point. Where a full-size call box will not fit — a narrow pillar, a tight lobby wall, a retrofit into existing masonry — the 1802 does the same job in less space. It suits both residential and light commercial entrances.
Two limitations to know before you order. This system needs a dedicated phone line, and it cannot be programmed by modem — programming is done at the unit. If you have no phone line at the entrance, a VoIP adapter will connect it over your internet instead. If you want remote programming, look at the Access Plus range.

The time zone features are what property managers use most. Hold the entrance open during a delivery window, or issue a code that only works on the days a contractor is due.

No phone line at the entrance?
The 1802 is designed around a dedicated landline, but most properties no longer have a spare one and running copper to an entrance is expensive. A VoIP adapter connects the system over your existing internet instead: 1815-578 VoIP adapter kit.

Size for growth, not for today. Running out of directory capacity means replacing the unit, not upgrading it. If you are anywhere near 100 residents, or expect the property to grow, step up to the 1,000-number 1802-082 now.
Common questions
What does EPD mean? Electronic Programmable Directory — the built-in display that lets a visitor scroll through resident names rather than needing to know a code in advance.

Does it need its own phone line? Yes, a dedicated line — or a 1815-578 VoIP adapter to run it over your internet connection instead.
Can I programme it remotely? No. The 1802-090 is programmed at the unit and cannot be programmed by modem. If remote management matters, look at the Access Plus models.
Can it call a mobile? Yes. It dials whatever numbers are programmed, cell phones included, with 10 and 11-digit dialling and 15 area codes.
Surface or flush mount? Both are available — the dimensions for each are in the spec table. Flush mount needs a rough-in box built into the structure, so decide before the masonry goes up.
Will it open my existing gate operator? Yes. It outputs a dry contact that any gate operator will accept, whatever the brand.
