DoorKing 1201-000 6" steel V-wheel with bearings. Wheel only. This is the heavy-duty load wheel a sliding or rolling gate rides on, running in the V of an inverted angle-iron track. Steel carries more weight and lasts longer than polyurethane on high-cycle commercial gates, at the cost of running noisier and being prone to surface rust where poly is not.

Steel or UHMW?
Match the wheel to the gate, not to what looks strongest. Steel is the right call on heavy or high-cycle commercial gates. On a residential gate under 750 lb, UHMW polyurethane is quieter, will not corrode and is easier on the track.
| Part | Size & material | Rated to |
|---|---|---|
| 1201-000 (this item) | 6 in. steel | Heavy / commercial duty |
| 1201-006 | 4 in. UHMW, heavy-duty bearings | 750 lb gate |
| 1201-004 | 4 in. UHMW, sleeve bearing | 500 lb gate |
Going up from a 4 in. wheel to a 6 in. needs more clearance between the gate frame and the track — check that before you order.
When to replace them. Worn wheels or seized bearings are the usual cause of a sliding gate that grinds, judders or drags as it travels, and of a gate that sits low at one end. Replace wheels in pairs so the gate stays level and the load stays even.
What else you may need. This is the wheel alone. If the brackets are rusted through or you are hanging a new gate, add V-wheel mounting plates. For the full range of wheels, guide rollers, catches and drive chain, see sliding gate hardware.
