Genuine DoorKing 1871-010 control board — the main board for the DoorKing 1812 Classic telephone entry system, models 1812-081. The Classic is the residential version with no phone line of its own; it dials through the house phone.

Three 1812 boards — read the number on yours. The 1812 was built in Classic, Plus and Access Plus versions, and each takes its own board. The board number is the fastest way to tell them apart:

Your programming does not carry over on the 1812. Codes and settings live on the board; re-enter them from your records, or reload them from the DoorKing software if the unit is programmed remotely. Then confirm talk time, relay strike time and tone-open codes before handing the system back.

    DK 1871-010 CPU

Posted by Steve on Sep 4th 2012

The 1871-010 is a replacement CPU to the 1812. There is an upgrade kit with the newer CPU, but the upgrade costs is nearly as much as a complete new unit, so you might as well buy a whole new unit. Unfortunately, the newer unit is not programmable from a PC via your telco line. DK now only supports PC programability via Ethernet which is limited to 350feet and requires trenching for CAT-5e from house to gate. The 1871-010 CPU is expensive! $800 shipped! Shipment was dropped shipped from either the factory or a distributor directly to me. This caused the 2-day shipping to take 3 days. But the CPU arrived in good condition and in working order. If DK supported programablility via the telco line as before, the newer system would have been a good upgrade choice for the cost.
